Communicate and work closely with clients. Keep track of calendaring tasks and prioritizing assignments in order to meet deadlines. Actively participate in community organizations. Handle a busy docket of cases before Immigration Courts, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Patrol, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the federal courts. The candidate should be a J.D. from an accredited university. Membership in good standing in the Bar of any State and/or the District of Columbia is required. Must have 2 years of experience (including law school clinical experience) with immigration law and procedures, with detained removal defense. Experience preparing legal packets, letters, submissions, motions is helpful. Should have excellent legal skills and understanding of movement lawyering principles. Demonstrated commitment to advancing and defending immigrant rights and willingness to support the firms mission, vision, and values is an advantage.
