Trademark Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all facets of the clearance and prosecution of U.S. and/or foreign trademarks for the Firm s client project program. Reporting to the Client Program Supervisor, primary responsibilities include: Preparing U.S. and global applications for trademark and service mark registration as well as ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings. Preparing trademark record title update filings. Assisting with trademark due diligence. Preparing and analyzing on-line preliminary trademark clearance searches and prepares search guides. Preparing applications for copyright registrations. Preparing correspondence to clients and local counsel regarding trademark prosecution and maintenance issues. Docketing and performing record-keeping for all aspects of the clients portfolio.
The candidate should have bachelor's Degree or paralegal legal certificate with 5+ years experience handling all aspects of trademark prosecution, extensive knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures and working knowledge of the national laws of other countries preferred. Proficiency with electronic research tools, and USPTO trademark filing systems is necessary as well as experience in utilizing computerized docketing systems (such as CPi) and MS Office suite.
