Paralegal Duties: Work independently and in conjunction with the primary paralegal assigned as the point of contact for asbestos clients, national counsel and carriers for asbestos client(s). This may include: Maintain and update reminders for project deadlines for asbestos client(s). Intake and complete New Complaint Intake Sheet of new complaints/petitions for asbestos client(s). Monitor deadlines for filing of responsive pleadings and pre-trial deadlines for asbestos clients(s). Review complaints/petitions, answers to discovery and deposition summaries for product identification. Maintain and update list of cases with product identification. Coordinate expert reporting with medical paralegal, asbestos client(s) and assigned docket/client attorneys. Monitor scheduled depositions for asbestos client(s). Update case management program with deposition information and product identification information. Prepare and update Fact and Expert Witness Disclosures including letters adopting master lists. Prepare and update Trial Exhibit Lists including letters adopting master lists. Prepare and file Discovery responses. Adhere to asbestos client(s) reporting requirements. Cooperate with assigned partner, docket attorney and client attorney for asbestos client(s). Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys/paralegals. This may include: Format briefs, pleadings, correspondences and other legal documents. File legal documents with state and federal courts (e-filing knowledge is a must). Regularly and accurately proofread all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing. Update and maintain client files. Maintain attorney calendars through Outlook (i.e. schedule appointments, calendar due dates, etc.). Organize and coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys. Qualifications: Must have 1+ years A? litigation experience. Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner. Attendance & Punctuality: Be consistently at work and on time; arrive at meetings and appointments on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent. Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer Service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments. Dependability: Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently. Team Work: Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone's efforts to succeed. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Lexis Nexis, Pacer, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, DropBox, and Excel (Aderant knowledge is a plus.).
