Intellectual Property Prosecution Litigation - Legal Secretary The candidate will be providing domestic and foreign patent prosecution Practice Assistant support to attorneys and patent agents. Will be preparing applications, responses and other patent prosecution documents for filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office "USPTO" and reporting filings to clients. Reviewing and maintaining attorney's dockets. Offering support for miscellaneous client-related projects. Performing general Practice Assistant duties including preparing routine correspondence, reading and routing mail, file maintenance, and screening attorney's incoming telephone calls. Preparing expense reports. Scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements. Prepare time entries in billing software. Coordinating with the Alexandria, VA office for training purposes and formalities processing. The candidate should have 5+ years of patent prosecution secretarial experience with domestic patent prosecution preferably in a law firm environment. Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2010 and familiarity with PATTSY, PAIR, TEAS, TESS, EFS-Web and EPAS. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and utilize current USPTO patent prosecution procedures essential. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills needed. Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook essential. Typing speed of 60 - 70 wpm; ability to produce accurate and attractive letters, USPTO filings, documents and reports essential. Good proof reading and editing skills - attention to detail is a must.
