Legal Secretary The candidate will provide duties include: Review completed documents thoroughly to check for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Prepares correspondence, memorandum and other legal documents from written and oral drafts; drafts standard correspondence, and other documents required by the Litigation process; understand specialty areas of practice and is capable of attaching appropriate enclosures for specialty area without the need for supervision. Opens files, prepares and collects conflict checks, and maintains client and general files. Coordinates attorney travel schedules. Inputs attorney time for billing purposes on a daily basis. Exemplifies excellent customer service in every interaction with the Firms clients and the public. This includes responding to messages and requests in a timely manner, graciously. The candidate must have bachelors degree from an accredited university. Must possess a positive attitude. Must have 2+ years of secretarial experience in a law firm. Must have proven analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Civil litigation experience is required. Must have familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services. Must have proven ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Must be experienced with e-filing in Federal and State courts. Knowledge of I-Manage, Outlook and Orion software is a plus. Must have ability to successfully pass a background/drug screen. Must have ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, staff, and clients. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
