Lead Paralegal (Family Law Firm) The candidate will help attorneys manage client files. Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, court orders, settlement offers, legal briefs, and other case-related documents. Assist, mentor, and lead other paralegals in the management of client files; drafting of legal correspondence, pleadings, court orders, settlement offers, legal briefs, and other case-related documents. Prepare spreadsheets of property division, budgets, and other related documents. Communicate with existing clients in person, on the telephone, and by email. Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests, having requests and responses delivered to opposing counsel, organization of discovery responses, calendaring deadlines, and all other aspects of written discovery. Assist attorneys with litigation support, including preparation and issuance of subpoenas, obtaining records from third parties, preparation of trial notebooks, and attending the trial with attorneys as necessary. Set hearings and trials with the court administrator. Document case progress following firm processes. Review and analyze client documents and document production. Meet with supervising attorneys to regularly share information and define strategy. Provide basic and accurate information in person and via phone/email. Communicate and work with paralegals and other staff in a professional and personable manner. Organize and properly document potential client cases as they move through stages of qualification and payment; Interest and experience in customer relationship management software and spreadsheets. Experience with programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, Clio, MacOS, and Google Apps. Should have 2+Years as a Family Law Paralegal. an attentive and empathetic listener, an excellent communicator, and understanding of customer service. Attention to detail, and the ability to ask the right questions are also critical skills. Must be compassionate toward our clients but also know when to be an advocate for them and when to tell them something they don t want to hear. Must possess strong English language verbal and written communication skills and perform at a high level of accuracy. Should have excellent communication skills: speaking, listening, and writing. Experience with Apple products (MacOS). Resourceful and proactive when issues arise. Should have excellent organizational skills. Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Should have the ability to quickly and accurately type on a keyboard and succinctly document conversations.
