Legal Secretary The candidate will assist the firm in providing high quality legal services. Prepare court filings and follow up with attorney service re status of filings. Filing of documents with various state and district Courts, as well as courts of appeal. Create tables of contents and tables of authorities. Create and maintain current Proofs of Service and Service Lists. Prepare client billing by reviewing proformas, computing amounts, drafting cover letters, typing, copying, mailing and forwarding finalized bills to Accounting Department. Prepare travel reimbursement forms and other expense forms for attorneys/paralegals. Prepare cover letters to accompany client billing. Complete check requests, new case reports, conflicts checks, routine mailings. Organize meetings, reserving conference rooms, arranging catering services, and coordinating schedules. Coordinate travel arrangements. Must have 5+ years of heavy litigation experience - will be assigned to four attorneys in litigation. Complex Litigation and/or Financial Services practice group experience ideal. State and Federal court filing experience a must.
