Legal Assistant/Paralegal Duties: Provides clerical assistance to attorneys in the Firm. Transcribes tape dictation for the drafting of various legal documents, general correspondence, and related material. Files correspondence and legal documents either for in-house or for storage. Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Preparation and typing of legal documents for hourly and collection files. Prepares affidavits for documents and maintains document file. Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, outgoing mail, and assist with travel arrangements. Maintain confidentiality of clients, firm information, cases, staff and contacts. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Associate's Degree in Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Legal Secretary and/or 3-5 years' experience working in a law office. Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and forms related to administrative support in a law firm. Skill in oral and written communication.
