Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Provide support by drafting legal documents and correspondence (i.e. pleadings, briefs, closing documents, discovery shells), submitting same for review, revising, redlining, comparing, proofreading, assembling, photocopying and distributing final material as necessary). Filing and serving court documents (e.g. pleadings, motions, etc.), and retrieving case files. Handling calendaring and court-related deadlines. Issuing subpoenas. Handling client intakes (English and Spanish). Heavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter. Handling document production and organization. Organizing records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format. Prepare files and/or binders for hearings, depositions, meetings and trial. Reviewing and proofreading documents. Scheduling various legal meetings and proceedings as needed, including but not limited to depositions, court hearings, etc. Making copies of documents for service; preparing envelopes and/or labels for said service. Maintaining client "Contacts". Qualifications: Must exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment, and decision-making skills. Thorough understanding of California and Federal court rules and filing requirements. Previous experience in a civil litigation law firm. Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to manage electronic and hard copy documents through litigation technology. Excellent organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Flexibility, ability to work late with advance notice. Familiarity with One Legal. Experience in Employment Law.
