Legal Secretary The candidate will support three lawyers and a paralegal, and will be expected to work with other staff members in a variety of office settings. Will be primarily litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation and other intellectual property matters. Typing pleadings, discovery, briefs, and correspondence. Electronically filing and handling service of pleadings according to the local rules. Answering telephones and covering for others during work day. Using Microsoft Office applications. Handles client matters (when appropriate) through telephone and e-mail. Using Intapp Time (software package) for time and expenses. Keeps record of attorneys time and expenses and submits to Accounting Department in a timely fashion; recapping expense memoranda and other miscellaneous accounting projects as assigned. Maintains work calendars by scheduling appointments, conference calls and other meetings. Prepares travel, hotel and car arrangements by using the internet. General office duties, such as preparing copies, printing e-mails and documents. Organizing and maintaining extensive sets of files, both paper and electronic. Using FileTrail (software package) and organizing/maintaining sets of files. Organizing and maintaining work room and supplies. Perform other duties as assigned. The candidate should have 4+ years of experience. Should have experience working on complex intellectual property cases. Excellent writing, proofreading and organizational skills are required. Should also have expertise in electronic filing, along with a talent for internet research and helping to monitor relevant news developments. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential. Experience with PowerPoint and Excel is needed. Excellent grammar and spelling skills are essential.
