Paralegal V K&L Gates is looking for a Paralegal V to join their Pittsburgh office to provide administrative support for the firm's legal practice areas. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality of client service. The base salary for this position is $89,900 to $150,200 per year. Job Duties: * Work closely with the Practice Area Leaders (PALs) and Practice Group Coordinators (PGCs) to implement daily operations of the practice * Schedule and coordinate support for practice orientations, training and other practice initiatives * Establish, train and ensure appropriate processes and best practices are followed throughout the practice to mitigate risk management concerns * Liaise with the firm's Information Technology Business Transformation Office to keep abreast of current practice management technologies and software solutions * Liaise with Library Services personnel regarding the coordination of all library orders for the practice * Attend and participate in practice group meetings, conveying the agenda, keeping minutes and circulating progress reports on activities * Liaise with Financial Services and Business Analysts to compile information, analyze data and assist in the creation of financial reports for the practice areas * Assist in monitoring budgets assigned to matters, progress in billing as determined by the client engagement and in conjunction with the Firm's Legal Pricing and Practice Management Director and staff * Assist in the management of the practice expense approval process and assist in the execution of certain large scale practice initiatives * Prepare and distribute lateral personnel reports * Coordinate and participate in specific initiatives related to client development or brand building efforts * Manage the distribution of practice information to external mailing lists of relevant contacts * Keep attorneys informed regarding appropriate practice professional conferences and seminars * Assist in compiling information for legal directories * Manage and update practice intranet pages on Compass, including organization charts, maps, brochures and membership spreadsheet * Manage and update new hires, including adding them to distribution lists and organization charts, coordinating their respective biographies and confirming photo * Prepare and maintain guidebooks which include an overview of all aspects of business development * Prepare and maintain reports relating to pitches made to clients and potential clients * Establish business protocols to promote firmwide practice group procedures * Generate Headcount and Utilization reports by Practice Area, Lawyer Classification and Region Experience & Skills Required: * Bachelor's degree required * Certified Legal Project Management Designation preferred * Relevant law firm or professional services operations and management experience * Superior organizational and time management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and build credibility with lawyers * Ability to set structure where none currently exists * Diplomacy and the ability to get others to collaborate without overt use of authority * Ability to sell needs of the practice group to others * Quantitative skills * Attention to detail * Ability to multi-task * Ability to maintain confidentiality of all firm and client related information * In addition to the generic qualities and skills discussed above, candidates for practice area specific positions may require certain specific educational credentials and skills Job Summary K&L Gates is looking for a Paralegal V to join their Pittsburgh office to provide administrative support for the firm's legal practice areas.
