Paralegal - Immigration The candidate will prepare a wide variety of business-based non-immigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions. Assist clients with PERM application process. Prepare RFE responses on H-1B and O-1 petitions. Prepare both employment-based (EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3) and family-based LPR petitions. Work with large Tech companies as well as Hospitals and Medical Practices on their employment-based immigration concerns. Work closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services. Compile and maintain records of immigration filings, other documentation and records of activity on behalf of clients. Review immigration regulations and be able to apply them to various case scenarios. Perform research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites. Collect information and documentation from clients. Prepare filings for relevant federal and state agencies. Conduct research of immigration law and procedures. Prepare draft correspondence and memoranda. Enter case information into case management system. Track the status of filings and inform the client and attorney of any follow up that may be necessary. The candidate should have Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor's degree; equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Should have 3+ years of paralegal experience in business immigration practice with significant H-1B and PERM experience. Must have 1 year of experience with employment-based immigration filings, such as H-1B, L-1, TN, E-1, E-2, O-1, R-1, PERM, I-140, and I-485 filings. Experience with Physician Immigration and Health Care immigration a plus. Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources is required. Military experience a plus. Knowledge of immigration software is helpful. 1400-hour billable hour requirement is desired. Ability to compose professional correspondence is needed.
