Paralegal Duties: Coordinates and manages large and complex document productions and litigation projects. Manages and utilizes automated litigation support tools including, Adobe, CaseMap, LiveNote, Westlaw, document databases, trial support programs, as well as in-house firm management software. Interacts with clients and outside vendors, expert witnesses and other law firms to gather and share information or data. Works with client and attorneys to gather, track, analyze and produce responsive documents. Creates and maintains case files and assists with team calendars and scheduling tasks. Conducts cite checking. Manages and utilizes automated litigation support tools. Performs factual research to identify issues and relevant matters, including confirming facts and legal authority and preparing compilations of findings. Reviews and drafts routine legal documents. Works in conjunction with other paralegals, secretaries, and other staff to bring projects to completion. Electric filing of documents with courts, including New York Supreme Court, New York Federal Courts and New York Appellate Courts. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree is required. Paralegal Certificate is preferred. 1-2 years of experience in professional services or law firm environment is required. Construction law experience is a plus. Self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context; must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks; highly organized and comfortable in deadline intensive, fast-paced environment; keen attention to detail with follow-up and follow through; excellent writing/proofing/editing skills required; strong client service orientation; excellent communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude; ability to work in multi-office environment; ability to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment for resolution. Strong Microsoft Office capabilities (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
