Legal Assistant / Paralegal The candidate will assist with case management, legal document preparation, billing projects, and time entry. Duties will include scanning incoming mail, calendaring deadlines, speaking with clients and various courts, occasional runs to the court, legal document preparation and retrieving the mail along with other general office duties. Another key component of this position will be to request and review medical records and compile the discoveries in medical chronologies. Should have 3+ years of experience in Insurance Defense. Property/Construction Defect experience is preferred. Must have expertise with reviewing medical records and compiling medical chronologies. Should have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, be detail oriented, hard-working, enthusiastic, team oriented, and have a determination to "figure it out." Must have excellent communication skills, typing skills, computer skills and interpersonal skills and professional appearance. Should have active knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, preparing and responding to discovery, subpoenas as well as knowledge and experience in preparing basic legal documents and pleadings. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
