Paralegal & Law Firm Office Assistant Clerk will support the office manager in administering the day-to-day operations of the firm. Will include: Calendaring dates and deadlines for the attorney, including discovery, trial, motion filings, and court deadlines. Filing correspondences, notes, oppos, etc. into physical and digital files, following established naming protocols. Preparing and completing templates for pleadings, discovery responses, and discovery requests. Opening and closing client files. Preparing drafts of letters, filings, and motions as directed by attorney. Performing legal research assignments. Filing documents (hard and soft copy) into client case files. Accurately and efficiently scan hard copy documents into digital file. Answering phone calls from potential clients, and provide case management support for existing clients. Scanning mail, naming documents based on established naming protocols, and placing into correct digital files. Very light office upkeep, such as emptying dishwasher, cleaning off conference room table, restocking fridge, etc. Qualifications: 2 years of experience as a paralegal for a law firm or legal service provider. Knowledge of or familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure. Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to adhere to deadlines while managing multiple, on-going projects and tasks. Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Word Perfect. Self-starter who can take ownership of the direction and completion of assigned projects. Team-oriented individual who possesses a friendly, outgoing demeanor. Eager learner and quick adopter of technology. Superb customer service skills and an eagerness for creating client satisfaction. Comfort with fast work environment, and able to switch between tasks effectively and productively. Preferred: 4-year college degree from accredited university. Certified paralegal through NALA, NFPA, or NALS. 0-12 months experience working in customer service, office management, administrative role, or sales.
