Legal Secretary / Assistant The candidate will provide legal and administrative assistance to the attorneys by performing complex secretarial tasks. Will prepare drafts and revise, format and finalize a wide variety of documents, including discovery, correspondence, memoranda, agreements, and legal pleadings. Search various court requirements and filing fees. Order medical records and follow up. Review incoming correspondence and pleadings for important dates/calendaring. The candidate must have 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary specializing in insurance defense litigation. Knowledge of state and federal court filing and e-filing procedures is required. Should be proficient in Word, Adobe Standard and Abacus. Ability to proofread, correctly format and question any inconsistencies in all materials is required. Should have ability to transcribe dictation. Practical knowledge of scheduling court hearings, conference calls, depositions, meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements for attorneys is essential.
