Legal Secretary Duties: Provide legal secretarial support and office administrative duties in a professional manner. Demonstrate strong secretarial skills in typing, proofreading, written and oral communications, and some bookkeeping. Compose a variety of standardized correspondence, create, draft, and distribute forms, memos, agendas, and lists. Perform exceptional customer service by answering the telephone, assisting visitors in the office and coordinating conference calls and meetings. Manage the calendars for attorney as requested. Schedule meetings and coordinate logistical arrangements as needed. Organize and prioritize the case workload. Provide office administration duties including managing the office inventory, file organization, and gathering case-related records. Sort and distribute documentation as well as prepare and distribute materials. Demonstrate ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
Requirements: Associates degree, business school, or other continuing education preferred. 3+ years secretarial experience; litigation experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Exceptional computer skills required. Must type at 60 WPM with accuracy. Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures. Exceptional customer service skills. Self-motivated, reliable, and flexible with demonstrated organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented and have strong follow-through skills. Able to multi-task effectively.
