Securities Litigation Paralegal The candidate's duties include: To review and learn Arbitration rules and procedures. Review key pleadings to identify allegations and documents needed to defend against the same. Research information online about Claimants and potential witnesses. Draft discovery requests, responses and motions. Draft detailed responses to Statements of Claim (Complaints). Organize documents received from in-house paralegal and identify outstanding documents. Attend final arbitration hearing to coordinate witnesses, take notes, track exhibits, display exhibits using Trial Director, monitoring reactions of arbitrators and updating outlines and notebooks as needed. Communicate effectively with the in-house paralegal. Communicate with Administrative Managers and Financial Advisors to obtain documents and coordinate telephonic meetings. Summarize information on potential arbitrators. Track all deadlines and actions items to ensure all internal and external deadlines are anticipated and met. Attend and take notes on all telephonic hearings and interviews. Draft case summaries for early resolution purposes. Prepare documents for production to opposing counsel. File pleadings and related documents through FINRA's DR Portal. Ensure all deadlines and reminders are docketed. Prepare notebooks, including Core Documents, document production, witness prep and exhibit notebooks for trial (final arbitration hearing). Must be highly organized and self-disciplined with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Must have good attendance, be punctual and reliable. The candidate A?must have a background or undergrad degree in finance would be beneficial. This could be securities, banking, insurance, accounting or tax preparation services. Should have Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or Associate's degree and at least 2 years prior experience; or High School Diploma or its equivalent and at least 5 years prior experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
