Paralegal The candidate will participate in all aspects of our cases, and are responsible for organizing, managing, presenting and maintaining the organization of documents and information, as well as preparing memoranda, chronologies, spreadsheets and other documents summarizing such information. Will conduct extensive online factual research; maintain and use a variety of document databases. Organize, summarize, and present the results of their research to other case team members. Retrieve cases and statutes, court dockets and documents, and conduct various types of public records searches using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, PACER, and Courtlink. Cite-check and Shepardize legal briefs using The Bluebook and California Style Manual. Assist with all aspects of hearing, mediation and trial preparation, including the creation, supplementation, and maintenance of witness binders and exhibits. Assist with the drafting and formatting of all types of documents to be filed in federal and state courts, as well as arbitrations before JAMS and the American Arbitration Association. Communicate with litigation support vendors and experts to coordinate the production of reports, models, demonstrative graphics, and courtroom presentations, as well as coordinating activities with opposing counsel s paralegals. E-file documents after business hours, either from home or the office, is required, as is weekend and after-hours case work during busy periods. The candidate should have strong organizational skills, experienced in organizing and maintaining volumes of documents and information, and capable of handling numerous tasks simultaneously. Must be computer literate and proficient in Office 365, professional in demeanor, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have experience conducting in-depth factual research, and able to summarize the results of such research clearly and concisely in writing. Must be experienced in preparing and e-filing documents in federal, state, and appellate courts, and have experience using litigation database programs such as Relativity and DISCO.
