Legal Assistant-Paralegal Duties: Assemble and proofread legal documents. Assist with drafting, revising, and finalizing legal documents. Prepare drafts and related documentation for plan corrections under IRS/DOL programs. Prepare and coordinate the facilitation of powers of attorneys. Prepare certain IRS/DOL filings. Maintain communication with clients and other parties. Prepare, organize and track discovery packets submitted for government agencies. Prepare, organize and track discovery packets submitted for government agencies. Maintain general working knowledge of ERISA rules. Engage with the team to create a collaborative culture. Ability to enter billable time in practice management software in a manner relevant to the client for work performed. Oversee matters by managing files and documents and managing calendar and deadlines. Review and communicate firm calendar reminders. Create efficiencies through developing and refining the Firm's systems including the policies and procedures, examples, templates, scripts, workflows, and videos. Help improve application awareness and help spearhead new solutions and improvements built around document and practice management solutions (knowledge of Clio and NetDocuments is a plus). Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Prior legal experience. Strong organizational skills and consistency. Strong attention to detail including grammar and spelling. Sound judgment, and strong oral/written communication skills. Ability to follow directions and procedures. Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Resilient problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with document assembly solutions. Desire to work in a collaborative, team-based environment. Confidence, dependable, great organizational skills, adaptability, creativity & innovation, think outside the box. Accountable, good team working skills, communication skills, and technical skills Preferred Qualifications: Prior paralegal experience with paralegal certificate. Legal research and investigation skills. Federal Law, IRS and DOL experience. Experience with proofreading legal documents. Experience with Federal ERISA or Employee Benefits law. Experience with practice management solution and improving process around such solutions. Experience with document assembly software (i.e. FT Williams and/or HotDocs). Experience with Estate Planning or Tax law. Experience using Clio practice management. Experience using NetDocument or other document solutions.
