Paralegal Clerk - Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation (ACER) Practice Group Clerks will in the ACER Practice Area provide support to lawyers during the entire antitrust investigation or litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. In addition, they will also support lawyers in connection with filing HSR premerger notifications with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ), from preparing memos soliciting information from clients necessary to complete HSR filings, to completing HSR forms and processing attachments to HSR forms, to filing the HSR notifications. Subject to the supervision of the attorney(s) responsible for the matter, Paralegal Clerks may assist in such tasks as: correspondence and discovery, hearings and trials, administrative proceedings, briefs, and settle Practice Support. Assist with document retrieval, review, organization, and production; Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research; Cite-check, proofread, and edit legal documents; Assist in the preparation of HSR filings Write concise memoranda to summarize research results; Maintain a database of client advisories; Maintain document, transcript, and work product databases; Assist with trial site preparation and attend trials; Conduct legal research; Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs; Coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines; Maintain confidentiality of client information; Maintain minimum 1650 hour annual billable requirement; All members of the firm are expected to participate in our Global Citizenship program; and Other projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills; Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational, troubleshooting, and planning skills; Ability to work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment with or without direct supervision, and coordinate and prioritize multiple projects; Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to locate specific items on the internet; Excellent analytical skills; Demonstrated initiative (must be a self-starter); Effective interpersonal skills (must be a team player); Ability to work under pressure effectively; Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality; and, Flexibility for additional hours as needed.
