Paralegal The candidate will support the legal team. Prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings. Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues. Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer. Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents. Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence. Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible. Arrange law office activity such as drafting documents. Prepare a Fiduciary's Report and Account. Draft Petitions and pleadings. File documents with the Court, including e-filing. Prepare Judicial Council Forms. Calendar and prepare files for hearings and mail-Serving documents. Schedule CourtCalls and Correspond with the Court, including clerks of the Court and probate examiners. Check Probate notes and preparing Supplements for the purpose of responding to Probate notes. The candidate should have an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree desired. Should have at least 2-5 years experience in preparing Accountings for Court Supervised and Non-Court Supervised matters in any of the following areas: Trust Administration, Special Needs Trust Administration, Probate, Conservatorship Estates, and/or Guardianship Estates. Should have 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting is needed. Experience with preparing and filing Conservatorship and Probate Petitions, familiarity with government benefits is required. Should have a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education for receiving preference. Knowledge of Actionstep case management software along with a customer service background is highly desired. Should have understanding and knowledge of the California Rules of Court and Local Court Rules for Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County. Must have strong interpersonal skills and a talent for writing and grammar. Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills. Should have proven ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish and English. Must have strong interpersonal skills and a talent for writing and grammar. Should be organized, and possess an aspirational degree of attention to detail, a team-oriented person who loves to collaborate with staff members and other professionals involved in the case to get the job done.
