Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be someone who can, with direction, take responsibility and maintain a file from opening through completion. Will be drafting documents and correspondence, review of incoming information, investigative tasks, completion of forms, etc. Will include: sorting mail; telephone answering; faxing; e-mailing; investigation to determine and locate assets and debts; filing; opening both electronic and hard copy files; and boxing (closing) of files. The candidate must have legal experience or training, familiarity with AOC forms and be a notary public. Calendar maintenance, along with an ability to meet court and client deadlines is essential. Must have the ability to follow through on assigned tasks and to follow procedures to track process of cases. Ability to communicate with clients, creditors, family members, other law offices and court personnel. Must understand and respect not only the privacy of an individual, but understand and implement nondisclosure of personal information and attorney-client privileged information. Microsoft Office Suite experience is required. Must have a thorough working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel; as well as QuickBooks.
