Legal Secretary/Assistant Duties: Plays an intricate role in the day-to-day operations as the legal assistant will assist with case management, legal document preparation, billing projects, and time entry. Scanning incoming mail, calendaring deadlines, speaking with clients and various courts, occasional runs to the court, legal document preparation and retrieving the mail along with other general office duties. Another key component of this position will be to request and review medical records and compile the discoveries in medical chronologies. Requirements: 2+ years of experience in Insurance Defense. Property experience is a big plus. Expertise with reviewing medical records and compiling medical chronologies. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, be detail oriented, hard-working, enthusiastic, team oriented, and have a determination to figure it out. Excellent communication skills, typing skills, computer skills and interpersonal skills and professional appearance. Active knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, preparing and responding to discovery, subpoenas as well as knowledge and experience in preparing basic legal documents and pleadings. Be familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel. Confidentiality in all discussions and negotiations will be maintained.
