Family Law Paralegal Duties: Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database/case management system; confirming case status/strategy with attorney. Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports. Maintaining Active client discovery status list. Conduct subsequent interviews on clients and witnesses; create a memo that summarizes their testimonies; and present it to the attorney. Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries, binders and materials for mediation conferences, depositions, trials and hearings. Preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review. Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; assisting in preparation of trial binders. Qualifications: Must have Two-year degree or equivalent certification. Must have 5+ years experience as a legal assistant/paralegal. Should have 3+ years experience in family law and discovery process. Efiling on Florida Eportal. Familiarity with MS Office. Ability to type 70+ words per minute. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Bilingual a PLUS.
