Paralegal The candidate will prepare drafts of legal and other documents and correspondence for attorney review. This will include handling assignments and post-registration filings for US registrations, handling US filings for foreign-based clients, and keeping clients apprised of the status of marks and patents. Conduct trademark clearance searches. Will also work to complete standard US trademark and patent application filings, and individual or limited group foreign filing programs, including the legalization of documents. Research will focus on locating and reviewing information applicable to a particular case, person or subject via online research or document reviews. Draft simple pleadings to assist attorneys with major motions and filings. All necessary documents for depositions, hearings, trials, or arbitrations will be organized and summarized and key testimony into case database. Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate is required. Experience as a paralegal in a legal department or law firm is essential. Experience in a large law firm or professional services organization is preferred. Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook experience is needed. Experience with legal software such as Relativity, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar technology is a must. Should have knowledge of USPTO procedures. Knowledge of computerized docketing systems is essential.
