Law Firm is looking for a Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role will work closely with a lead attorney and legal assistant. This position comes with competitive pay and a generous bonus plan. ##H2 Qualifications Successful candidates will have the following qualifications: * Associate degree or higher, certificate, or equivalent work experience * Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred * Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice, or other injury related practice areas preferred * At least 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting * Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision * Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail ##H2 Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Workers' Compensation Paralegal include, but are not limited to: * Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, Petitions for Benefits, and legal memoranda * E-file all court documents with OJCC * Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and other parties relevant to the case files * Conduct legal research and factual investigation * Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses * Draft and serve summons subpoenas and notices * Coordinate and summarized depositions, (IME and EMA appointments, conference calls) * Prepare trial binders and exhibits with legal assistant * Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents to file with the court * Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes * Organize medical composites, exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices * Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests * Gather and maintain relevant information from a variety of sources (ex: medical records, witnesses, and clients) * Liaise between trial teams and internal and external third parties * Help with witness preparation * Help with case settlements and execution of settlement documents with clients ##H2 Benefits Law Firm is dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful. The Workers' Compensation Paralegal will be responsible for preparing legal documents, e-filing court documents, conducting legal research, preparing discovery documents, drafting pleadings and motions, and organizing medical composites, exhibits, documents, and briefs. They will also aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests, gather and maintain relevant information from a variety of sources, and help with witness preparation and case settlements. The successful candidate must have excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
