Paralegal (Entry Level) Duties: Under general direction of assigned attorneys and the Director of Administration must be well organized and able to handle a large volume of small scale client matters including drafting correspondence, template agreements and judicial council forms. Working knowledge of California and Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Working knowledge of Smalls Claims and Superior Courts. Navigate online resources such as Pacer, state court dockets, search engines, social media, Lexis/Nexis, Edgar, etc. Prepare and manage wage garnishments, default judgments, post judgment accounting and enforcement. Organization and management of data and evidence. Draft correspondence, agreements and pleadings. Understanding of service of process deadlines, court filings and court deadlines. Accurately tracking and recording time spent on tasks and projects. Able to take initiative and anticipate what tasks need to be completed. Assisting with file management. Conduct Skip Tracing and title searches. Maintain a regular presence and regular working business hours at the office. Meet or exceed the minimum billable-hour requirement set by the Firm. Follow all firm policies and procedures. Satisfy required Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). May travel by car, rail and plane for case and/or business-related matters. Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, CSDisco, and PracticeMaster. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate required. 1 year of experience as a paralegal is preferred. Knowledge of State and Federal Fair Debt Collection laws is extremely helpful. Required to maintain positive contact with clients and delinquent homeowners and observe confidentiality of client matters. Must have excellent project management skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting or exceeding internal satisfaction goals. Must be a self-starter with proven efficacy as a problem solver. Excellent interpersonal skills and the highest degree of professionalism is a must. Outstanding software literacy is critical. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have superior internal and external client service skills. Strong initiative, problem solving and organizational skills with unwavering attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of management and staff is critical. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime as required. Must have outstanding technology aptitude and literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro and time tracking software. Must organize and prioritize numerous tasks; follow directions and instructions; work independently or in a team; and provide work that is consistently error free. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible under pressure to meet client and attorney needs with a positive attitude and composure. Ability to understand and execute specific, detailed instructions.
