Paralegal Duties: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures provides legal/general support to the firm s attorneys and their clients. Must be familiar with and observe the firm s established policies and guidelines. Must maintain positive contact with attorneys (both the firm s and outside counsel), support staff, clients and vendors. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Coordinate recordation of deeds, mortgages/deeds of trust, amendments, lot line adjustments, easements, covenants and other documents; Perform all necessary follow-up for all post closing matters, including finalizing of closing binders. Requirements: Undergraduate degree and paralegal certificate required; will consider candidate with comparable relevant experience in lieu of a paralegal certificate. Paralegal with 7 - 10 years of real estate legal experience needed. Experience in reviewing and analyzing title reports, surveys, zoning certificates and other due diligence materials for acquisition and real estate finance transactions; Experience in drafting conveyancing, closing and loan documents; Experience in reviewing leases and preparing lease abstracts; Experience in organizing and assisting with closings including review of settlement statements; Ability to review purchase contracts and loan documents and prepare closing checklists; Experience in dealing with multi-state acquisition/loan transactions; Experience with formation of entities and drafting of organizational documents; Ability to access and search land records; Highly motivated and a self-starter; Ability to interact well with attorneys, staff and clients; Good organizational, writing, and proofreading skills; and Ability to track and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload. The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Exercising independent judgment and initiative.
