Paralegal Responsibilities: Research, investigate, analyze, and summarize facts and factual issues relevant to practice area. Draft and prepare legal documents appropriate to practice area. Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by group leader and other attorneys in assigned substantive practice group. Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law. Receive and follow complex instructions. Take appropriate action to monitor and meet deadlines. Establish priorities and work concurrently on a variety of projects. Participate in the training and professional development of other paralegals in routine practice elements. Maintain the firm's official file utilizing the document management system. Track and record client-billable time as required meeting minimum billable hour requirements. Responsible for maintaining and prioritizing work on a daily basis and communicating if unable to meet daily responsibilities. Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certification preferred. Should have 3 years or more of experience as an Energy paralegal. FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) experience is required. Experience with database files management systems such as iManage and a records management system. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate good teamwork skills within and among practice groups, offices, and firms to facilitate efficient delivery of legal services. Knowledge in FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) filings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word). Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
