Legal Secretary / Administrative Assistant Duties: Reception, answering the phone and booking appointments. Processing mail. Processing legal documents and correspondence. Calendaring appointments, litigation deadlines, depositions and other court dates. Maintaining legal files both electronically and in paper format. Ordering office supplies.
Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Word. Proficiency with scanning, Adobe Acrobat, and managing electronic files. Experience with Office 365 is a plus. Experience with PACER and ECF is a plus. Technical skills: understanding of legal language and process, computer skills, especially Word. Communication skills: courteous, diplomatic, discretion, good listening skills; excellent verbal & written communication skills. Analytical skills: good comprehension and ability to determine information necessary to document the file for the attorney; strategic skills, pragmatic. Time management skills: ability to organize work, prioritize, meet deadlines, take the initiative, and work independently. Personal Qualities: extreme attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, adaptable, flexible, enthusiastic, dependable, reliable, integrity, and team player. Careful attention to detail is critical. Must have the ability to manage confidential information/situations with high degree of sensitivity and discretion. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
