Legal Secretary Duties: Work with two senior members who practice in the corporate and securities area. Works with clients, attorneys and other people to help make sure work is completed on time. You will need to welcome guests and clients by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries; and keeping track of projects. Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics; coordinating documents and bills. Conserves attorneys time by reading, researching, reviewing, proofing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; filing legal documents in a timely manner; initiating telecommunications; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, and other special functions; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations; and preparing expense reports. Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney. Top proof reading skills and attention to details is critical. Requirements: Bachelor's degree is preferred. 3+ years of experience in a Legal Assistant position. Must be proficient in computer systems and software such as Microsoft Office (to include MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook) and Windows applications environment. Proficiency in grammar, spelling and punctuation is required to produce accurate, printed documents. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
