Litigation Paralegal - Liability Defense The candidate should have 2 years experience, although exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Must be familiar with all aspects of liability and defense litigation. Responsibilities include: Drafting of pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, settlement documents. Process authorizations and compile medical records. Analyzing medical records, draft summaries, and chronologies. Communicate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants as needed. Manage and update case activity to assist attorneys with case monitoring and client reporting. Assist with prepping files for mediation, arbitration, and trial. Prepare cases from inception to trial. Accurately record and maintain billable hours. Experience in civil litigation and management of high-volume of cases are required. Experience reviewing medical and technical records preferred. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Legal research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency preferred. Must have Knowledge of New York State Unified Court System and Federal E-Filing Procedures. Paralegal certificate; Associate Degree or higher is preferred. End Date: 2021-12-30
