Asbestos Paralegal The candidate will assist a group of attorneys in managing cases on both a national and local level. Daily assignments may include : receipt and evaluation of case reports, pleadings, and other records; maintaining several databases; generating reports; managing settlements from release documents through payment; client contact; and much more. The work involves day to day monitoring of MA asbestos docket for all ViacomCBS cases in MA and in CT. Filing of all pleadings in MA by File & Serve. Filing of all pleadings in USDC cases. Deposition scheduling and preparation for covering attorney. Preparation and processing of all settlements in MA, RI, and CT. Analyses of potential removals in MA, CT, and RI. Oversight of RI and Maine local counsel. Weekly deposition reports. Site research. Daily coordination with attorneys on scheduling, filings, depo coverage, court appearances, defense meetings, and other events. Monitoring and compliance with all filing deadlines per PTOs. Should have 2-4 years of experience. Should feel comfortable working both independently and as a team player, be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to prioritize tasks in what can sometimes be a fast-paced environment.
