Family Law Paralegal The candidate will conduct research to support legal proceedings. Assist attorney with client contact. Assist in maintaining movement in all cases to maintain proper timing of work and consistent preparation. Maintain up to date and accurate contact information for client and all related parties and attorneys in Clio and PCLaw or alternate billing program and immediately notify all parties of change. Draft documents related to the matters as directed by the responsible attorney, i.e., general correspondence, motions, pleadings, orders, spreadsheets, affidavits, certificates, worksheets, declarations, discovery, pleading lists, exhibits lists, necessary notebooks, fee affidavits, etc. Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes. Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Create and update pleadings indexes and client pleading notebooks. Record and store client information. Manage calendar call attendance and participation. Handle case management tracking. Calculate Child Support when necessary. Draft Correspondence to client and handle court runs. Create and issue Subpoenas. Create demonstrative exhibits for hearings and trials. Create Redlines/Track Changes. Create Asset / Debt Charts, including any divisible property. Complete deadline calculation and calendaring. Should have 4+ years of previous experience as a paralegal. College Degree and/or Paralegal Certification preferred. Familiarity with legal research. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Deadline and detail-oriented. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
