Trademark Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for providing support to trademark portfolio and copyright practice. Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Work from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines. Prepare and file the U.S. and coordinate global applications for trademark and service mark registration as well as prosecution and maintenance filings. Prepare Trademark Trial and Appeal Board filings, trademark record title update filings. Assist with trademark and copyright due diligence. Perform and analyze online preliminary trademark clearance searches and prepare search guidelines. Prepare, file, and prosecute applications for copyright registrations. Prepare correspondence to and communicate with clients and local counsel regarding trademark prosecution and maintenance issues. Keep attorneys apprised of upcoming deadlines and work with them to apprise clients. Assume additional responsibilities as requested. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of Trademark portfolio management experience in a law firm or corporate legal department; experience conducting and analyzing searches using online trademark databases; experience with Foundation IP is preferred; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent attention to detail and ability to execute through to completion; creative problem-solving skills, reasoning ability, and logical thought process; ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet various deadlines; demonstrated ability to professionally interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team; an outstanding sense of customer service; ability to handle confidential matters with discretion; high level of integrity and honesty; excellent computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical; flexibility to work overtime when necessary. Must be an enthusiastic, proactive, and positive attitude; self-motivated to produce quality work.
