Though the Los Angeles office of this full-service litigation firm continues to specialize in complex insurance litigation coverage, the firm’s main office has recently tried to cash in on the technology litigation market to “bring some growth to the firm.” The transition has not been an easy one; the firm has had an unusually high attrition rate in recent years (insiders tell us some associates left to pursue government jobs but many departed for better money with different firms). However, while salaries remain slightly below market, many observers think the firm is capable of breaking through.
Paralegal Trial The candidate should have 3 years of strong litigation experience for our Trial Practice Group. In order to be considered, applicants must possess strong trial skills and be experienced at organizing documents for deposition taking and preparation. Should possess excellent judgment and decision-making skills and be able to prioritize workflow to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely fashion. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Should have a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as experience using litigation support software (experience with Relativity is a plus). Bachelor s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
