Paralegal - Foreclosure Defense The candidate will learn multiple aspects of homeowner representation and foreclosure defense. Support attorneys on the foreclosure defense team. Focus on real estate law, reviewing clients' loan documents for violations, drafting and preparing the appropriate causes of action, and participating in a variety of activities related to saving borrowers from foreclosure as well as typical administrative duties. Coordinate with the Client intake team. Draft legal documents from the simple to very complex. Maintain the Firm's legal calendar and all related scheduling. Answer and screen telephone calls in a professional manner. Record and store client information in web-based case management tool. The candidate should have 3+ years of previous experience as a paralegal in consumer law. Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal training program OR Bachelor's degree in legal studies OR 5+years of equivalent experience. Familiar with mortgage or consumer law related to debt, real estate, title, bankruptcy or foreclosure. Familiar with litigation process and types of legal documents filed in District & Federal courts. Must be Bi-lingual/Spanish (mandatory). Ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Intermediate computers skills, (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, web) necessary.
