Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will draft emails, letters and correspondence. Proofread documents prepared by attorneys and other office personnel to ensure accuracy in grammar and spelling. Provide secretarial and administrative support as requested by attorneys, including interacting with clients, meeting with outside counsel, and other staff members. Oversee and maintain organized filing procedures for client lists, legal materials, case files, law libraries, and other documentation both electronically and in hard copy form. Assist in legal research as dictated by attorneys, analyze and compile data. Draft, prepare and file various business formation documents. Manage internal corporate database and file annual reports and business license renewals. Manage actions and written material related to company licensing, approval processes, trademarks, content, copyright defense, and cease and desist efforts. Improve and implement new methods for data collection, content management, organization, contract oversight, and other tasks. Track and maintain ongoing spreadsheets of deadlines, and to maintain a client shared database with an excellent level of accuracy. Prepare professional communications to clients following highly specific client procedural manuals, and maintain/track ongoing conversations regarding specific requests until completion. Convert PDF documents, some with extensive algorithms listed, to Word documents with an excellent level of accuracy. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate. Must have 2+ years of experience working as a corporate or IP legal assistant. Ability to confidentially handle sensitive information. Excellent writing and speaking skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email tools, and technical savvy to learn additional programs. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
