Legal Secretary Duties: Prepare and process case-related correspondence and legal documents. Responsible for accurate service, pleadings, filings, and e-filings. Ensure professional and accurate client communications: engagement letters, billing inquiries, and phone calls. Proofread documents and check for appropriate formatting, spelling, and grammar. Maintain and update attorneys calendars and dockets of all case deadlines. Update client files, notebooks, and pleading indices regularly and accurately. Review and route incoming/outgoing mail, fax communications, and messenger services. Maintain and update contact names and addresses in the firm contact databases. Prepare attorneys billing entries. Coordinate travel arrangements, prepare itineraries and prepare related expense reports and reimbursements. Qualifications: High school diploma required (college degree is preferred, but not required). Must have 3 years of experience as a litigation secretary or paralegal. Employment law experience preferred. Oral and written communications are concise, accurate, and professional, with coworkers, clients, and vendors. Possess basic PC skills; ability to use phone system, copier, scanner, fax, and printer. Demonstrated mastery of local court rules related to service, pleadings, filings, and e-filings. Lexis Nexis, Pacer, ECF, Desk site or other comparable document management system, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, CompuLaw, and Excel. (Aderant knowledge is a plus.).
