Part-Time Nurse Paralegal The candidate will be responsible to support a high demand Medical Malpractice Defense team. Gather medical records and performing comprehensive chart reviews for relevancy and standard of care deviations. Draft memorandums to assist with reporting to insurers. Conferring with clients. Assisting attorneys with preparation for witness depositions. Locating and retaining expert witnesses, preparing information and data. Work with expert witnesses on preparation of testimony and trial. Performing medical research and obtaining medical literature relevant to matter. Draft medical chronologies. Summarize medical literature. The candidate must have R.N. certification. Law Firm experience is preferred. Ability to understand basic medical terminology and anatomy is necessary. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills is needed. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential. Must be highly motivated, proactive self-starter with excellent time management skills. Ability to multi-task and to reprioritize tasks to accommodate urgent requests is required. Ability to create a friendly and professional rapport with attorneys, staff and external parties is critical. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all Firm and client matters is compulsory. Ability to work overtime as needed is desired.
