Junior-level Paralegal - Immigration The candidate will prepare a wide variety of business-based non immigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions. Assist clients with the PERM application process. Assist with applying for work visas with U.S. consular offices abroad. Work closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services. Compile and maintain records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients. Review immigration regulations and apply them to various case scenarios, with attorney supervision. Perform research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites. Collect information and documentation from clients. Prepare filings for relevant federal and state agencies. Conduct research on immigration law and procedures. Prepare draft correspondence and memorandum. Enter case information into the case management system, track the status of filings and inform the client and attorney of any follow-up that may be necessary. The candidate should have 1+ year of experience with employment-based immigration filings, such as H-1B, L-1, TN, E-1, E-2, O-1, R-1, PERM, I-140, and I-485 filings. Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer-assisted legal resources required. Must be detailed oriented. Annual billable hour requirement. Military experience is welcome. Knowledge of immigration software preferred. Must have demonstrated good organizational skills for prioritizing workload, demonstrates the ability to acquire understanding quickly and absorb new information rapidly. Must be able to manage competing priorities. Must have maintained high standards of performance. Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility. Must have a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude. Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization. Must exhibit well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills, exhibits strong oral and written communications skills. Must have a thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style. Must have the ability to compose professional correspondence
