Legal Secretary/Assistant Duties: Billing and time entry. Drafting legal documents. Preparing discovery, including e-Discovery, records requests and review, redaction of documents, vetting experts. Conducting background searches. Mediation and trial preparation. Know the federal and state rules of civil procedure. Qualifications: Bachelor's is desired. Must have 5 years of litigation experience. Thorough knowledge of preparing subpoenas, processing discovery, and preparing for trial, state, and federal court. Strong computer, typing, and internet skills. Exceptional organization skills and ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Be proficient at obtaining, reviewing, summarizing, and evaluating medical records, and personnel and employment records; proactive, not reactive, in moving cases toward trial or resolution; proactive in learning new skills to increase and enhance your litigation and legal practice, through observation and interaction with senior lawyers; willing to accept professional comments and critiques from senior lawyers supervising the cases; courteous, humble, and have a good sense of humor; be part of the team; skilled and experienced in navigating social media websites for investigative purposes; skilled and experienced in navigating medical research websites, such as WebMD, and others, for medical background and discovery purposes.
