Escrow Officer / Real Estate Paralegal The candidate's duties include: Prepare and review Real Estate Purchase Agreements and closing packages; Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents; Determine escrow requirements by reviewing and analyzing buyer, seller, and lender instructions. Obtain clear title by ordering title reports; resolving title defects; satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals. Prepare transaction documents by completing forms and statements; collecting and reviewing existing documents. Complete closing transaction documents by assembling documents; reviewing papers with parties; explaining provisions and procedures; answering questions; checking documents for completeness and accuracy; obtaining signatures. Prepare CD by utilizing lender instructions. Balance funds to ensure disbursing funds are correct. Record all documents either electronically or travel to the county to attend to recording. Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements. Disburse loan proceeds upon approval from Lender. Prepare and distribute title commitments and final title policies. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. 3+ years escrow/title closing experience including: CD prep and balance, document prep, post-closing, commitment, and policy preparation required. Familiarity with E-Closing.com software a plus. Ohio Notary public; Remote Online Notary a plus. Familiarity with closing terms and documents, as well as the ability to explain to customers (CD, Deed, Mortgage, Note, affidavits, etc) required. Strong organizational skills required. Competent in Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to utilize escrow and title software required.
