Paralegal/Legal Secretary Duties: Perform various paralegal, secretarial, and administrative functions in a fast-paced litigation environment. Coordinate and facilitate legal filings with various federal and state courts (both electronically and manually); draft correspondence and communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, including attorneys, staff, court-staff, clients, and vendors; perform new client intakes; prepare and format documents, including tables of contents and tables of authorities in Microsoft Word; maintain case deadlines and attorney calendars; perform general administrative and office management functions; answer phones; collect and process mail; set up conference rooms; and coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys.
Requirements: 3+ years of relevant law firm experience; general office, filing, and computer skills; ability to professionally interact with clients and the public by telephone, in written communications, and in-person; excellent attention to detail; proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; familiar with Compulaw, Clio, and/or similar docketing and calendaring systems, and expertise in court procedures and application of local rules. Should be self-starters with a can-do attitude, highly motivated, professional, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
