Legal Secretary The candidate will Assistant to partner and associate who practice primarily in products liability/product defect practice area which involve multiple parties in state and federal jurisdictions. Answering of attorneys' telephones. Handle incoming and outgoing mail for assigned attorneys. Typing and filing of all case related documents and correspondence. Efiling/filing with the court and service of pleadings and discovery on parties. Draft various types of documents including correspondence, pleadings, discovery, fee agreements. Preparation of TOCs and TOAs. Coordinate depositions, office meetings and appointments. Transcription, if required, and proofreading. Case management. Maintain contacts/calendar for attorneys, including confirmation of each day's events. Make periodic travel arrangements for attorneys. Preparation of monthly expense reports for attorneys. Enter attorney billing time and review/edit of client pre-bills. Responsible for implementing insurance company billing procedure (i.e., reports, budgets and billing rates, etc.). Should have 5-10 years' legal experience. Must have experience in Word and Adobe Pro, Excel helpful. Must be able to independently format pleadings, motions and discovery, including TOA/TOCs. Must know state and federal court filing procedures and able to independently file documents with state, complex, federal and appellate courts. Must have efiling experience with such platforms as: One Legal, File and Serve Xpress and Trufiling. Must have knowledge of litigation calendaring, knowledge of an electronic calendar system helpful. Use of Judicial Counsel forms helpful. Trial experience helpful. Must have familiarity with eservice platforms such as: Case Home Page or Case Anywhere. Knowledge of insurance billing practices helpful. Knowledge of Ediscovery platform helpful.
