Senior Paralegal The candidate will be providing excellent assistance to clients by Maintaining a working knowledge of the entire client file, including the status of discovery. Providing information to clients regarding status, and tracking pending matters and documents. o Provide information regarding procedures and explain processes. Meeting with clients to review and sign documents as needed. Working directly with clients to complete forms and pleadings, Uniform Support Declarations, UCCJEA information, and affidavits/declarations in support of other pleadings. Preparing child support worksheets and parenting time calendars. Assisting clients by troubleshooting questions/problems when the Attorney is unavailable. Taking client phone calls, listening, and providing procedural information. Managing cases (tracking litigation processes and deadlines). Managing discovery. Assisting in preparing for mediations, trials, depositions, etc. Preparing and drafting legal documents for attorney review and finalization. Assisting with discovery and case processing and strategies by preparing initial pleadings, including Motions, declarations, Subpoenas, Responses to RFPs, USDs, and Protective Orders. Creating demonstrative exhibits. Analyzing and tracing account funds. Drafting initial mediation memorandums, etc. A growth-minded professional with great communication, writing, and research skills. Exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Developing interpersonal relationships with other Attorneys, staff, and experts. Managing multiple tasks, Attorneys, and clients. Should have 5 years of experience in Oregon family law practice, handling matters involving complex asset division, custody, spousal, and child support; an experience that enables independent assessment of client matters; an experience which enables contribution to the development of case strategy, including working independently and proactively come up with strategic moves and anticipation of next steps; specialized knowledge related to the division of assets (real property, retirement, investments, stocks, life insurance, business formation documents, trust, and estate documents, etc.) and the tax implications thereof; experience reading and interpreting tax returns, K1s, and other asset statements; experience with all stages of litigation; experience preparing for and attending trials/arbitrations/mediations/hearings; experience developing and maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and digital case files. Must possess good organizational skills. Proofread and edit spelling, punctuation, grammar, and required language (content). Should have knowledge of local and state filing rules, procedures, and terminology. Learn and use technology systems (software) including Word, Excel, Outlook, teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Adobe, LexisNexis legal research, Zola Suite, and Net Documents. Learn and use technology systems (hardware) including telephone, computer, copier/scan, and fax machines. Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Should have the ability to build rapport with clients.
