Legal Secretary The candidate will be a responsible for performing secretarial duties using legal terminology, procedures, and documents. Duties include but are not limited to calendaring, preparing legal papers and correspondence, such as drafting complaints, motions, and depositions; may also assist with legal research. S/he will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the timely completion of work. Calendar deadlines and court appearances, schedule court reporters, and prep final overview for attorney meetings. Draft and file legal documents that initiate a lawsuit through OneLegal in a timely manner. Complete and file various forms, such as trial and courtroom requests, and applications on behalf of clients. Coordinate and schedule vehicle inspections and depositions of clients, the dealership personnel, experts, etc. Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials. Receive and place telephone calls to court officials, clients, co-counsel, and vendors. Organize and maintain documents and case files. Make photocopies and scans of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter. Minimum Bachelor's Degree/Paralegal Certificate OR 2-3 years of previous Legal Secretary experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as excellent active listening skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn and become proficient in Firm Client Database. Ability to multitask, prioritize, think critically and work under pressure with confidential material. Operate standard office equipment.
