Paralegal Responsibilities: The candidate will have extensive knowledge of the ECF/PACER, PTAB and PAIR systems. Review and manage docket for deadlines, must have the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks on an ongoing, immediate basis, understand docket and deadlines and action needed on each file; inform working attorney of deadlines; preparation of weekly docket reports. Drafting litigation pleadings, i.e. Motions, Notices, Discovery, and Proposed Orders. Extensive knowledge of the state, federal and ITC litigation process. Experience filing documents with the PACER and PTAB, including IPR s and CBM s. Experience with all facets of documents productions, including confidentiality, deliverables, service and drafting privilege logs. Experience with all facets of depositions, including preparing exhibits, digesting transcripts and preparing errata sheets. Review files and preparation of documents for litigation/IPR procedures. Liaise with clients, experts, and opposing counsel. Experience at trial in State and Federal Courts plus in the ITC, with possible travel. Willing and able to step right into a leading paralegal role in active state, Federal and ITC litigations. Experience with appellate level litigations, including preparing appendices and Federal Circuit filings. Requirements: The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree. Should have 1-5 years work experience in a law firm environment, or related professional experience. Must have knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures. Should preferably have extensive knowledge and skills in utilizing the Internet, Adobe Acrobat, U.S. Patent Office Electronic Filing System, EPCT; experience with legal research tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MSWord, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Ability to learn and use databases. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to proofread materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Must have strong organizational, decision-making skills and problem solving skills. Must be reliable and a self-starter. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, photocopiers, fax machines and typewriter. Routinely review and disburse vendors invoices. Extensive daily contacts with lawyers, staff and colleagues. Assist lawyers in contacts with opposing counsel, government agencies and county clerks. Contact with outside vendors. Assist lawyers in contact with clients. Must be able to routinely lift and carry file folders weighing up to 5-10 pounds. Must be able to spend long periods of time working at computer workstation. Must be able to lift, squat, kneel and bend. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
