Paralegal The candidate will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney. Maintain files, conduct legal research, draft documents, communicate with clients and other parties involved in the cases, etc. Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles. Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm's document management software. Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court. Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents (after a lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing counsel. Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions. Should have 1-5 years of experience as a paralegal. Experience in General Litigation preferred. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology is required. Knowledge of billing is also required. Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case is essential. Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure. Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions.
